Avoiding Infringement

How can you avoid having your Good Neighbor Committee activities infringe on or undermine the activities of other departments in your organization?

It’s important to communicate the activities of your committee to the rest of your organization. If your organization is a grantmaking foundation, be sure to connect with others at your organization who might also be working with your potential grantee. At Ford Foundation for example, they do not fund organizations that are currently funded by other parts of the foundation, unless a grantmaker approaches us to join him or her in collaborative support that fits with our mission.
